This watch was obtained earlier this year as part of a collection purchased from a private collector in Germany. No previous history known.
The watch is in excellent original condition and it is working very well.
The watch winds and sets time correctly and the chronograph mechanism is operating and re-setting correctly.
The matt chrome plated brass case and brass pusher caps + crown are all in excellent condition showing only very minor marks of service usage.
All hands are original. The white painted hour and minute hands retain their original lume.
The black gloss finish dial is in good condition and the dial numbers have their original lume which has faded and discoloured with age.
The original brass spring bars are still fitted.
I removed the movement from the case for inspection and I took the opportunity to carry out a lubrication service while the movement was out of the case.
The movement is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.
I have lubricated the rotating bezel.
The watch is fitted with a very nice condition original BUND leather strap which is marked G1198 and the NATO Stock Number 6645-12-145-6415.
The Junghans 88/0111 is the second model of the BUND Junghans J88 series of watches to be issued. Examples are very hard to find in the good original and fully functioning condition that this example is in.
