This watch was obtained earlier this year as part of a collection purchased from a private collector in Germany. No previous history known.
The watch is in superb original condition and it is working very well.
The watch winds and sets time correctly and the chronograph mechanism is operating and re-setting correctly.
The bright chrome plated brass case and pusher caps + crown are all in really excellent condition showing only very minor marks of service usage.
The infill material for the dial numerals and the hour / minute hands is original and pure white. I could not detect any radiation reading or residual luminosity.
All hands are original and in mint condition. The black gloss finish dial is also in truly wonderful mint condition.
The original brass spring bars are still fitted.
I removed the movement from the case for inspection and I took the opportunity to carry out a lubrication service while the movement was out of the case.
The movement is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.
The watch is fitted with its original and extremely rare BUND issued stainless steel Kiefer bracelet. The bracelet is marked with its NATO stock no. etc. on the rear of the last link at each end of the bracelet (see pics).
A full set of photographs have been taken and these are available on request.
The Junghans 88/0112 is the third model of the BUND Junghans J88 series of watches to be issued. Examples are extremely hard to find, especially in the superb original and fully functioning condition that this example is in.
